Alachua Habitat and Santa Fe College Celebrate Partnership with Home Dedication

GAINESVILLE – It has been a long time since Alachua Habitat for Humanity (AHFH) family partner Susan Weaver lived in a house.

“I never thought I’d have my own home again,” she said. “Then I met the people at Alachua Habitat and it all fell into place.”

AHFH will present the house key to Weaver at the home dedication at 9316 SW 92nd St. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 9 a.m.

Weaver said she is most excited for the opportunity to turn a house into a home. As a homeowner she is able to enjoy small pleasures such as gardening, owning pets and having guests, all of which were limited at her previous apartment complex.

“I am really looking forward to staying in the same place for the rest of my life, and making it my own,” she said.
