Volunteer opportunities for

UF Chapter

Who we are

The University of Florida (UF) Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is comprised of current undergraduate and graduate students attending UF or Santa Fe College. The UF Habitat for Humanity Chapter works in collaboration with Alachua Habitat for Humanity to build safe and affordable housing for deserving families in the Alachua County area. Families are required to contribute sweat equity hours on their home and other homes, take classes on finance and homeownership, and pay an affordable mortgage on their home, which is used to build other Habitat homes. Habitat for Humanity depends heavily on volunteers, donations, and sponsorships.

What we do

UF Habitat provides volunteers for Alachua Habitat’s construction builds throughout the academic school year. Projects include new home construction, rehabilitation of existing homes, and critical home repairs.

Occasionally, this means a cancellation on the morning of the event. If it is scheduled to rain, some sites may still be able to host volunteers if the work for the day is inside the house, depending on its state in the construction process. Volunteers will be notified via email if the build is cancelled.
