The Correll Family Joins Alachua Habitat Homeowners with the 180th Home Built

Celebrating Community: Alachua Habitat Marks Milestone with 180th Home Dedication

Gainesville – Alachua Habitat for Humanity is thrilled to announce the upcoming dedication of a new home to the Correll-Waterbury Family, marking a significant milestone as the organization's 180th home built.

Robert and his grandson, Elliott, are embarking on an exciting new chapter as new homeowners with Alachua Habitat for Humanity. This journey holds special significance for the family, representing not only a fresh start but also a continuation of a family legacy of Habitat homeownership. Elliott's mother, Christy, was the 15th Women Build homeowner in 2022. Robert and Elliott eagerly anticipate living closer to family and enhancing their ability to support and care for one another.

The dedication ceremony for the Correll-Waterbury Family's new home will take place on Thursday, May 23rd at 10:00am at 1705 NE 9th Avenue, Gainesville 32641. The event will be a celebration of community, hope, and the transformative power of affordable homeownership.

This achievement would not have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors. Alachua Habitat for Humanity extends heartfelt gratitude to Trinity United Methodist Church and the band Sister Hazel, as well as the City of Gainesville, who donated the lot for this project. Their partnership and commitment to affordable housing have made a lasting impact on the lives of families in our community.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the dedication of our 180th home and to welcome the Correll-Waterbury Family into their new Habitat home," said Stevie Doyle, Executive Director at Alachua Habitat for Humanity. "This milestone reflects the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who share our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live."

Alachua Habitat for Humanity

Founded in 1986, Alachua Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live and we work towards that vision by bringing people together to build strength, stability, and independence through shelter. To accomplish these goals, we invite people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses “Habitat Houses“ together in partnership with families in need of affordable housing. Habitat houses are sold to homeowner families financed with mortgages they can afford. For more information visit our About Page.
